SYSid 7 Acoustic Test and Measurement System

SYSid - short for system identification - is a complete, affordable and flexible test and measurement instrument for characterizing any system operating within the audio band. SYSid delivers the capabilities of systems costing many times its price, and performs traditionally time-consuming tasks quickly, without sacrificing accuracy or ease of use.  SYSid runs on a proprietary 16-bit, two-channel data acquisition and signal processing PCIMA II compatible card.  PCI and ISA bus adaptors are optionally available.

SYSid 7 brings unprecedented functionality to acoustic test and measurement. New DSP board capabilities over the original ISA bus full-length version include tracking anti-alising filters, programmable gain and attenuation, ultra-high 128,000 point FFT resolution, easier and faster installation into a wider range of computers, and operation under Windows 98 and NT.

  • Superior acoustic analysis tool for transducer design

  • Quality Control functions

  • Thiele-Small parameter measurements.

  • User-defined stimuli in addition to chirp, log chirp, MLS, sinusoidal or impulse

  • Stimuli are provided for speaker rub / buzz testing and spectral contamination.

  • Harmonic distortion – 2nd, 3rd and THD + noise, IM distortion vs. level

  • Post processing capabilities include reverse time energy (continuous, octave or third-octave bands), RT60 (reverberation)

  • PostScript file output for screen dumps, and prints out under Windows

  • Import data files including LEAP/LMS, B&K, AP, MLSSA

  • Export to LEAP, spreadsheets, MATLAB and Signalogic's Hypersignal-Acoustic.

Mic Preamp

SYSid 7 is supplied with either the Symetrix 302 dual channel mic preamp or the Earthworks Lab Series mic preamps.  Either of these units are required for interface with the PC Card and an integral connector cable is installed for Specfic use with SYSid 7.  Phantom power supply, gain control, and balanced inputs and outputs are supplied by the mic preamps.
