SYSid Version 6.5
The SYSid Test and Measurement System

SYSid - short for system identification - represents a significant step in the evolution of test instruments. It combines high quality signal acquisition and synthesis, DSP, a PC and AT&T Bell Labs' acoustical expertise. The result is a complete, affordable and flexible test and measurement instrument for characterizing any system operating within the audio band. SYSid delivers the capabilities of systems costing many times it's price, and performs traditionally time consuming tasks quickly, without sacrificing accuracy or ease of use. SYSid runs on the Ariel DSP-16, a 16-bit, two channel data acquisition and signal processing card for IBM-compatible PCs.

SYSid is Multifaceted

Version 6.5 of SYSid brings unprecedented functionality to acoustic test and measurement. New menus include Quality Control and Thiele-Small parameter measurements. SYSid now supports user-defined stimuli in addition to chirp, log chirp, MLS, sinusoidal or impulse stimuli. Sample stimuli are provided for speaker rub and buzz testing and spectral contamination. SYSid will measure harmonic distortion - second, third and THD plus noise - as well as distortion vs. level for a user-selected frequency. Postprocessing capabilities include reverse time energy (continuous, octave or third-octave bands), PostScript file output for screen dumps, and more. Improvements were made to the user interface, distortion measurements, waterfall display, and context sensitive help.

SYSid will import data files from other measurement systems, including LEAP/LMS, B&K, AP, MLSSA, etc. SYSid can export data to LEAP, spreadsheets, and third party software packages, such as MATLAB and Signalogic's Hypersignal-Acoustic.
